When?

Most of us are trapped in the hustle and bustle world of the city life. We tend to retort to the phrase "Maybe Next Time" after seeing our friends, reading about it on the internet about the adventures we wish we did. Promised ourselves to do, but for so long a time hasn't done it.

Well my dear friends and readers, it's time to break free from the grasp of what we call reality. There's more to life than dimes and dollars or should I say cents and pesos. Let's go out there and discover.

I'm a realist. Money can't buy you happiness, but it can buy you a bit of freedom to do things. Let's face it, once you're out the door it's like riding a cab. As if you can hear the meter running. So might as well save up a little and spend it to a more meaningful endeavor (and I don't mean going to the mall stuff).

It's time to say "HELLO WORLD!"

Palawan Day 3

We are now on the tail end of our journey.  After spending another night in Taytay rest house, it's time to head back to Puerto Princesa.  One final snap before leaving...
As we head back towards PP, we passed by a Tribal Village where one of their relative is staying.  It was a bit of tearful reunion to some of them since it's been a couple of decades since they last saw each other.

Still can't figure this out. It's like an abbreviated text message.
Next stop is the Taytay Town Center.  I didn't realize that there is a historical structure built on this town. A Spanish Fort!
The Fort!

Look Ma! Hollywood!
Next stop before reaching down town PP is the view deck along the road over looking Honda Bay and a small island where the world famous Dos Palmas is located.  It made me wonder that time how in the heck did Abu Sayyaf able to kidnap a lot of tourist considering that it's about an hour drive from the Capital and probably less by sea?!  All the while I thought that Dos Palmas is in the outer edges of Palawan.
Overlooking Honda Bay
No wonder there's a big-ass navy ship stationed along the coastline of El Nido.  So as not to repeat what happened way back that put the Philippines on world view in a bad light.

No vacation is complete without buying some souvenirs and pasalubong.  When we reached PP we scouted for some shops around down town.  Most of them are DoT accredited so most of the pricing is the same.  I'm not good at shopping so I just walked around and watched them haggle.

A friend of mine who went here before told me to eat at this "famous" Vietnamese fast food.  So I asked our host if he can take us there for a merienda.  I'm a bit of a foodie so I was quite excited to try their menu.  Noodle soup is the order of the day.  Matched with a baguette baked in-house.  Sad to say, I'm not impressed.  Maybe I'm being too over critical about this.  Considering the cheap price and all.  But I'd rather pay more to get the authentic taste.

With an hour or so to spare before our flight, our bags packed and ready we headed for the park by the bay.  A fitting end to a great (partial) visit of Palawan.  Time to wind down and savor the cool clean breeze of the sea.

Sadly, it was time to go.  But it was a great unplanned vacation nonetheless!  Back to reality, to the daily grind.

Hoping to go back again, one day...
